In conversation with Janie, twelve people, who are living with advanced cancer, describe their relationship with death, and how they have grappled with what it means to heal before they die. One person had to grieve the sorrows of a lifetime to find hope, and another had to rage against past hurts to find peace. Some describe what has helped them to face their fears, and others describe how their children inspire them every day to live and love alongside their fears. One person needed to ask for forgiveness and another learned how to forgive themselves. Everyone finds their own unique ways to make preparations and to consider what legacies they will leave behind. This work of preparation is a radical act of love for the people who live on after we are gone.
